XO Communications Continues to Rank Seventh on Vertical Systems Group Ethernet LEADERBOARD
XO Communications, for a third consecutive time, ranked number seven among the top U.S. Ethernet providers on the Vertical Systems Group (VSG) U.S. Carrier LEADERBOAD at the end of 2016. XO has held the number seven rank since VSG’s mid-year 2015 evaluation. Rankings are measured by the number of customer ports in service based on input from surveys of Ethernet providers.
Ethernet is one of the most widely deployed networking technology options in the world today. XO Ethernet Services provide a simple, cost-effective way to connect business locations and allow applications, data and information to flow seamlessly over Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) with the security, performance and reliability businesses increasingly require.
Additionally, XO’s Ethernet services enable companies to easily connect securely to the cloud and scale their networks to accommodate business growth, quickly adopt rich media and mission-critical business applications that help deliver new revenue opportunities and innovative customer experiences.
Data in the VSG report indicates that U.S. business Ethernet continues to grow faster than other major wireline access and transport technologies.
In the same report, Verizon ranked number four on the LEADERBOARD. XO Communications was acquired by Verizon February 1, 2017. As XO is integrated into Verizon, it will be interesting to see what the new LEADERBOARD reveals when it is published in the middle of 2017.
