The Power of Portals
The world we live in today is increasingly dominated by technology – whether it’s your mobile phone, your high definition television, your PC, and for some of us – your new wearable device. We’re connected, our children are connected, and even our parents and grandparents are connected. All of this connectivity can be both a blessing and a curse depending on one’s point of view. Regardless, it’s hard to deny that in many ways, large and small, our lives whether at home or work, have been impacted by the unrelenting onslaught of technology.
So what does this have to do with portals? According to Webster’s Dictionary a Portal is defined as: an entrance or a door; an approach or entrance to a tunnel; a point at which something can enter the body; or, a site serving as a guide or point of entry to the World Wide Web. Regardless of the definition portals help to simplify – whether as an entrance to a building, church or tunnel, a pathway into the body, or as a way to get onto the Internet. They help to provide clarity and guidance in an increasingly complex and chaotic world – virtual or otherwise. Portals serve to organize, provide structure and to enable connections. They also tend to be fairly intuitive – even very young children grasp pretty quickly the concept of a door leading to somewhere else.
So it stands to reason that when used in the technical sense portals can be very powerful tools for end users. They lead, they organize, they open doors – all hopefully accomplished within an easy to navigate architecture and design.
This is clearly the case with the newly launched myXO customer portal now available to new and existing XO Communications customers. Designed to be highly intuitive, myXO provides a consolidated environment for XO customers to easily manage their XO products and services from one location, from almost any device, from almost any location, at any time day or night.See how the myXO customer portal can help provide you, your business and your network with the tools necessary to thrive in your marketplace today and into the future.
