Vice President, Human Resources
Maureen Schaffer is the vice president of human resources for XO Communications. In this role, she is responsible for the development and deployment of XO’s human resources strategy. Specifically, Maureen oversees the functions responsible for employee engagement, recruitment and selection, total rewards, benefits, human resources management systems, performance management, training and development, talent management and succession planning.
At XO, Schaffer has served as vice president of human resources since 2001 where she worked to ensure the strategic alignment of human resources initiatives with key business objectives for the company’s nationwide workforce. She joined XO in 1999 as regional vice president of human resources and led the implementation of workforce plans, communication strategies and training initiatives to support organizational changes.
Prior to joining XO, Schaffer was vice president of people development, northeast region, for AT&T Wireless Services. At AT&T, she led the human resource function for a workforce comprised of 2,200 employees. Early in her career Maureen worked for AIG as a training and development manager.
Schaffer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from William Patterson College, where she graduated summa cum laude.
