XO Names Wayne Rehberger as CFO
Reston, VA - XO Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:XOXO), one of the world’s fastest growing providers of broadband communications services (formerly known as NEXTLINK / Concentric), today named 20-year telecommunications industry veteran Wayne Rehberger to the position of Chief Financial Officer.
“I am extremely pleased to have Wayne join the executive team at XO,” said Daniel F. Akerson, XO Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “I have personally known and worked alongside Wayne for a number of years and believe his intellect and extensive financial experience give XO yet another ‘A’ player at the senior management level.”
Rehberger brings over 20 years of diversified telecommunications management experience to XO including having served as Senior Vice President of Finance at MCI WorldCom where he managed network costs, local interconnection and global procurement organizations. He also held other senior level finance positions at MCI in which he had responsibility for financial planning, business analysis, accounting functions and real estate management. Prior to joining MCI, he served as a private and public sector consultant at the accounting firm of KPMG where he specialized in strategic planning and project management.
Rehberger joined XO this past August and has been directly involved with the company’s financial team and senior management. He replaces Mark Gunning who has been serving as Chief Financial Officer at XO for the past year. Gunning, who resigned to pursue other business interests, will remain available to the company for a period of time to complete an effective transition.
“We thank Mark for his dedication and recognize the contribution he has made in helping XO further strengthen and improve the efficiency of our internal financial systems and procedures and helping the company grow to the next level,” continued Akerson.
