Fidelity Access Networks Selects XO for 10Gbps High-Speed IP Transit Service
- High Capacity Solution Will Deliver 24x7 Internet Broadband
HERNDON, VA – Jul 21, 2008 – XO Communications Services, Inc., a leading provider of 21st century communications for businesses and communications service providers, today announced it has entered into an agreement with Fidelity Access, a provider of digital broadband IP services. Fidelity Access plans to use XO’s High-Speed IP Transit Service to serve the growing bandwidth needs of their clients -- including large organizations and companies with more than 100,000 users.
Fidelity Access selected XO Communications’ High-Speed IP Transit Service to meet a growing demand among its clients for services that are cost-effective and offer more bandwidth, faster application deployment and high performance and reliability. The company has recently expanded its clientele and is providing its services under the federal E-Rate program that makes available discounted telecommunications services to non-profit private schools, public schools and libraries.

XO will provide Fidelity Access with 10Gbps IP transit port service to deliver very high-speed connectivity to the Internet. 10 Gigabit Ethernet is a high-speed form of Ethernet, a local network technology that can provide data transfer rates in the range of 1 Gigabit per second. XO’s ability to deliver 10Gbps ports to the Internet is enabled through the nationwide deployment of advanced digital optical network technology across XO’s 18,000 route mile inter-city network.
