Simone Wu Appointed Senior Vice President and General Counsel of XO Holdings
RESTON, VA - XO Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB: XOHO.OB) today announced the appointment of Simone Wu as senior vice president and general counsel. Wu will be responsible for all legal matters of XO Holdings and will report to Carl Grivner, CEO of XO Holdings.
“We are pleased to welcome Simone as our general counsel,” said Grivner. “She possesses broad telecommunications knowledge and legal experience that will make her a valuable addition to the executive team.”
Wu brings 17 years of telecommunications legal experience including domestic and international business and corporate development, intellectual property and commercial law, and regulatory affairs. Wu joined XO in October 2001 as senior corporate counsel and was named vice president and assistant general counsel in March 2004. She has served as acting general counsel since June 2005.
Before joining XO, she was associate general counsel and vice president of business and legal affairs at LightSource Telecom. Before that, Wu was director of business affairs at America Online where she focused on international and domestic arrangements between AOL and its joint ventures and partners. Prior to that, she was an associate counsel at MCI Communications where she managed commercial legal affairs and relationships with global affiliates. She began her legal career at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom where she specialized in domestic and international transactional and communications law.
Wu received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with high honors from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate from Columbia University School of Law where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
