SunRocket Selects XO Communications for VoIP Termination Services
RESTON, VA - XO Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: XOCM.OB) today announced that it is providing wholesale voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) termination services to SunRocket, one of the nation's leading Internet phone service providers.
SunRocket is utilizing XO VoIP Termination to support its rapidly growing all-inclusive Internet home phone service. XO VoIP Termination enables SunRocket to hand off voice traffic to XO, allowing SunRocket’s customers’ IP-based calls to be routed across the XO IP network at the highest priority and terminated to the public switched telephone network at destinations across the United States.

XO VoIP Termination enables broadband telephony providers and cable companies to hand over their VoIP traffic directly to XO for termination to the public switched telephone network. With an IP connection to the XO IP network, customers’ voice traffic is routed across the XO OC-192 class of service-enabled network at the highest level of priority. The traffic passes through an XO softswitch gateway and is carried across the XO IP network to an XO softswitch gateway nearest the final destination of the call. The traffic is then converted by an XO softswitch to a format accepted by the terminating local service provider.
