Westec selects XO Communications as its DSL Provider
Selected For Its Financial Strength and Reliable Service Offerings, XO Is Chosen To Provide Vital Access Component To Westec's Interactive Security Solutions and Services
Reston, VA. (July 8, 2003) - XO Communications, Inc., a national broadband communications service provider, announced today it has been selected by Westec InterActive to provide DSL services used to enable advanced two-way audio and video communications, which offers vital information and intervention capabilities in the event of a security breach. As the leaders in security monitoring, Westec relies upon this access to dispatch the proper police, fire and emergency resources on behalf of its customers.
Westec InterActive is the first national company to provide interactive products and services for risk management and remote operations. To achieve this end, the Westec customer location is equipped with quality cameras, microphones, speakers, alarms and an interactive transmission unit. When the system is activated at a customer's site, audio and video information is immediately transferred to Westec's Visual Communication Center (VCC), allowing an intervention specialist to see, hear, and, if necessary, intervene in order to protect both employees and customers.
