Carl C. Icahn
Director
Carl C. Icahn has served as Chairman of the Board and a Director of Starfire Holding Corporation (formerly Icahn Holding Corporation), a privately-held holding company, and Chairman of the Board and a Director of various subsidiaries of Starfire, including ACF Industries, Incorporated, a privately-held railcar leasing and manufacturing company, since 1984. He has also been Chairman of the Board and President of Icahn & Co., Inc., a registered broker-dealer and a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, since 1968. Since November 1990, Mr. Icahn has been Chairman of the Board of American Property Investors, Inc., the general partner of American Real Estate Partners, L.P., a public limited partnership that invests in real estate. Mr. Icahn has been a Director of Cadus Pharmaceutical Corporation, a firm which holds various biotechnology patents, since 1993. Since August 1998 he has also served as Chairman of the Board of Lowestfare.com, LLC, an internet travel reservations company. From October 1998, Mr. Icahn has been the President and a Director of Stratosphere Corporation which operates the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. Since September 29, 2000, Mr. Icahn has served as the Chairman of the Board of GB Holdings, a holding company that owns the Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Carl J. Grivner
Chief Executive Officer
Carl Grivner was appointed chief executive officer of XO Communications on May 15, 2003.
Mr. Grivner's career in telecommunications and technology spans more than 25 years. Formerly, Mr. Grivner was chief operating officer at Global Crossing, a position he held from February 2002 until April 2003. Mr. Grivner joined Global Crossing in June 2000 as executive vice president of global operations. Prior to joining Global Crossing, Mr. Grivner was chief executive officer of Worldport Communications. He is also a former chief executive officer for the Western Hemisphere at Cable & Wireless. Additionally, Mr. Grivner has held various senior executive positions at Advanced Fiber Communications. Early in his career he held various positions with Ameritech and IBM.
Mr. Grivner received a Bachelor of Arts from Lycoming College and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975-1978.
He is a board member and vice chairman of CompTel, the nation's largest association of facilities-based competitive telecommunications companies.
Vincent Intrieri
Director
Vincent Intrieri has served as a portfolio manager of High River Limited Partnership since 1998. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Intrieri served as portfolio manager for distressed investments with Elliot Associates L.P., a New York investment fund. Prior to 1995, Mr. Intrieri was a partner at a “big six” accounting firm and is a certified public accountant. Mr. Intrieri currently serves on the board of directors of TransTexas Gas Corporation.
Harold First
Director
Harold First was appointed by the board of directors of XO Holdings on April 29, 2010. Mr. First has been an independent financial consultant since January 1993. Mr. First has served on the board of directors of American Railcar Industries, Inc., a company that is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing covered hopper and tank railcars, since January 2007. Mr. First is currently a director of WestPoint International, Inc., a manufacturer of bed and bath home fashion products. Since November 2007, Mr. First has been a director of Lexington Realty Trust, a New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) traded real estate investment trust that merged with Newkirk Realty Trust, Inc. (Newkirk), another NYSE traded real estate investment trust on December 31, 2006. From April 2001 to March 2006, Mr. First served on the board of directors of GB Holdings, Inc. which owned an interest in Atlantic Coast Holdings, Inc., the owner and operator of The Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, until November 2006. From January 2006 through December 2006, Mr. First was a director of Newkirk. Mr. First was a director of PANACO Inc., an oil and gas drilling firm, from September 1997 to December 2003. Mr. First is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. from Brooklyn College.
Keith Meister
Director
Keith Meister has served as senior investment analyst of High River Limited Partnership since June, 2002. From March 2000 through 2001, Mr. Meister co-founded and served as co-president of J Net Ventures, a $100 million venture capital fund focused on investments in information technology and enterprise software businesses. From 1997 through 1999, Mr. Meister served as an investment professional at Northstar Capital Partners, an opportunistic investment partnership with assets in excess of $2 billion. Prior to Northstar, Mr. Meister served as an investment analyst in the investment banking group at Lazard Freres.
Fredrik Gradin
Director
Fredrik Gradin has been president and CEO of Explorer Group Inc., an investment management company, since its inception in 1998. Prior to founding Explorer Group Inc., Mr. Gradin served as president of Spectron Energy, Inc., a leading energy brokerage company. Mr. Gradin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University.
Robert Knauss
Director
Robert Knauss currently serves as an independent director on the boards of the NYSE-traded investment funds Equus II, Inc. and The Mexico Fund, Inc. In the past twenty years Mr. Knauss has served on the boards of seven public companies. He previously served as chairman of Philip Services Corporation from 1998 to 2000 and from 2002 to 2003. Mr. Knauss also previously served as the dean of the University of Houston Law Center and Vanderbilt University Law School. Knauss holds a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College.
David Schechter
Director
Mr. Schechter has over twelve years of financial management experience. Mr. Schechter has been with Icahn since February 2004. From 1997 to 2004, Mr. Schechter was employed by Citigroup's Salomon Smith Barney unit where he was a Vice President in the Global Special Situations Group. Mr. Schechter was responsible for generating investment ideas for the group's $1 billion proprietary fund across a variety of sectors and all parts of the capital structure, primarily focused on distressed securities. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Schechter was a Financial Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at Salomon Smith Barney. Mr. Schechter received a B.S. in Economics in 1997 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
